I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Ex twice world title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers participated in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
