Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced interruptions to water supplies, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a minor was lost their life in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Moscow has intensified strikes on electrical systems over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, Europe and the major economies - in providing protection systems and applying sanctions," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets attacked energy facilities, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.
